What to expect on the NDC Mental Health First Aid Standard Training Course…
MHFA Lite – An introductory 3 hour awareness workshop
What will I learn?
I am a quality assured MHFA instructor delivering training that has been designed to fit into four manageable chunks. These are: • What is mental health? • Suicide and depression • Anxiety, eating disorders, and self harm • Psychosis
How will I learn?
The MHFA Lite course is an introductory course and lasts three hours. The session will be a mix of presentations, group interaction, and activities. Our instructors provide a safe learning environment and are trained to support you throughout the whole course. If you don’t feel comfortable joining in certain parts, then there is no pressure to. Due to some of the sensitive subjects of our courses, we limit numbers to 25 people. We want everyone to feel safe and our instructors can help if people find some parts particularly difficult. You'll receive a MHFA Lite manual that you can take away with you at the end of the session and an attendance certificate from MHFA England.
Who can attend the course?
The course is for everyone aged 16 and above and you don’t need any qualifications or experience in mental health to take part.
